Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical Hypnotherapy is a powerful psychotherapeutic process

It induces deep relaxation and is useful for a range of symptomology to support health & wellbeing goals.

An evidence-based solution…

Centuries of research clearly illustrates that hypnotic trance, coupled with a powerful suggestion is a deeply effective catalyst for healing. It is particularly good for problems with a lot of emotion or that have a high “affective” impact on your day-to-day life.

Clinical hypnotherapy is a great way of managing stress by achieving deep, deep relaxation. In this state, your conscious mind is guided away from the troubles of everyday life and into a place of tranquillity and peace, where your mind and body can rest and re-set, leaving you refreshed and energised.

Sue Orwin Clinical Hypnotherapy

What can Hypnotherapy be used for?

I currently offer clinical hypnotherapy for the following symptomology:

*NICE Recommended.

As your Hypnotherapist, I guide you into a state of deep, deep relaxation where your mind is more open to change.

I will install relaxation-promoting responses in your unconscious that keep working long after the sessions have finished. Even better, the more you practice it, the better you get at achieving this deeply relaxed state and the faster you can access it when you need it.

Relaxation is an essential part of self-care and managing stress, helping you look after your well-being. In fact, it is more important than you might realise and plays a key part in the balancing process, alongside what we eat, how much physical activity we do, and how we handle stress.

Evidence tells us that when we are relaxed we are more creative, patient and able to persist with tasks for longer.

I use hypnotherapy myself as an alternative / addition to meditation. As a Ctrl. Alt. Delete to soothe my nervous system – I highly recommend it! Because when we relax, we are decreasing the effects stress is having on our body and mind.

Just knowing what to do doesn’t make change happen…

…if that were true there would be no obesity, addiction, anxiety etc. Humans don’t work that way.

All learning, behaviour and change takes place in the unconscious.

In hypnotherapy I can’t make you do anything, but I can help things change much more easily by helping you build new, more helpful, habits that you can use for life.

FAQ’s, Myths and Misconceptions about Hypnotherapy

Will I lose control and/or spill all my secrets?

No. Hypnosis is actually a state of hyper focus and you remain in complete control. You are more aware than in a normal waking state, and able to select information accordingly, and make deep integrations at an unconscious level. Hypnosis is all about the rapport between you and I as your hypnotherapist. Only you decide if you will follow the instructions or not.

What actually is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Clinical Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnosis for wellbeing purposes. Hypnotic trance is a natural, everyday occurrence that all humans experience. Have you ever driven from A-B with little or no recollection? Or caught yourself daydreaming? These are natural, everyday examples of light hypnotic trance.

In Clinical Hypnotherapy I use advanced hypnosis techniques to assist you into this deeply relaxed state where your unconscious mind is more receptive to positive, wellbeing based suggestions. In this state, your unconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and fiction, so it just gets on with making the suggestion a reality.

Will I feel like I am asleep?

No. Hypnosis a very different state from sleep. Also don’t expect to “feel” hypnotised.

Think about it… What is the relationship between the state you are in right now, and the state you were in just before you woke up this morning? Did you experience that state as being similar to the waking state or different from the waking state?

What you will do, is emerge from hypnosis feeling refreshed and energised.

Does Hypnosis work for everyone?

As hypnosis is a naturally occurring, every day state, everyone can enter the hypnotic state, it’s a matter of trusting the process and following the instructions.

When you follow instructions 100% you get 100% results.

If you could wave a magic wand, what would you/your life be like?
